We carefully screen every Indonesian candidate before they begin their journey to Malaysia. Only qualified applicants who meet our criteria are accepted into our overseas training and assessment process in Indonesia. Each candidate goes through a thorough background verification, employment history check, and skills assessment to ensure only reliable and qualified helpers are being shortlisted. For example, on our strict criteria, we only accept applicants who have completed previous employment contracts without early termination and who do not have young children under three years old. This ensures commitment, professionalism, and overcome their homesickness.

The Government of Indonesia enforces strict regulations to ensure that overseas workers are competent and well-prepared. All selected domestic helpers undergo a comprehensive 21-day training under the supervision of the Indonesian government in Balai Latihan Kerja Luar Negeri (BLKLN). The program develops their skills and discipline to handle household tasks efficiently. After completing the required assessment, they receive official certification confirming their readiness to work abroad.

Before deployment, AP Sands requests a detailed job description from each employer. This allows us to tailor the helper's final training to match the family's exact requirements. It ensures clarity for both the helper and the employer, leading to better performance and long-term satisfaction.

When they arrive in Malaysia, we provide additional intensive training at our local AP Sands Training Centre in Puchong. This local training focuses on real Malaysian household needs and daily home management. We also emphasise mindset preparation, ensuring our helpers are confident, responsible, and ready to integrate smoothly into their employer's home. Unready helpers will not be assigned to employers. Those who are not prepared to work will be sent back to their home country.

We collaborate with confinement centres in Malaysia to support employers with newborn babies. Our maids receive additional intensive training focused on newborn care. This helps them understand how Malaysian employers take care of their babies and ensures they can provide the right support at home.

In partnership with a Japanese training school, we provide advanced caregiver training focused on elderly and bedridden patients. This program benefits employers with elderly family members, as it covers personal hygiene, medication reminders, mobility assistance, and emotional support. This ensures our helpers can care for seniors and sick family members with skill, patience, and professionalism.

AP Sands follows all legal requirements for hiring Indonesian domestic helpers in Malaysia. We coordinate with both Malaysian and Indonesian authorities to ensure proper documentation and a transparent hiring process.

Based on the latest Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Malaysia and Indonesia on April 1, 2022, the Indonesian government set clear guidelines for domestic helper wages and leave entitlements. The agreement establishes a minimum salary of RM1,500 per month and guarantees weekly and annual leave for 26 working days with one rest day per week. Employers who request their helper to work on a rest day must provide an additional RM87.50 as compensation.
